Founded in 2018 and based in New York, BBRC Private Equity invests in growing consumer and retail businesses.
We specialize on backing passionate founders and management teams to achieve their long term visions. We value brands with true distinction and we aspire to nurture those brands to new levels of growth and profitability.
We focus on growth equity, minority and majority equity investments in which managements teams retain a meaningful amount of ownership. Our typical investment ranges from $10M to $50M USD but we have the resources to invest over $100M in certain circumstances. We prefer to make long term investments where BBRC can support a company and a management team over an extended period of time.
With one sole source of capital, we make investment decisions quickly and we execute transactions swiftly. In addition, BBRC draws from over 40 years of investing experience in diverse businesses in diverse locations. Lastly, we are able to be creative and flexible in structuring transactions in order to provide financial solutions in a variety of ways.

FOUNDER & CHAIRMAN
Brett Blundy is the Chairman and Founder of BBRC, a private investment firm with a near 40-year track record of successfully creating, growing and investing in entrepreneurial businesses.
Brett has spent his entire career growing consumer and retail businesses and he currently manages numerous investments across multiple industry verticals within BBRC. Brett is a member of the board of directors of several businesses including as the Executive Chairman of Lovisa and the Chairman of the BBRC Private Equity.
Who we are: BBRC Private Equity
Robert is the Managing Partner and a Co-Founder of BBRC Private Equity. He has spent his entire career investing in and advising companies in the consumer industry, having built several firms from the ground up.
Robert Farinholt is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of BBRC Private Equity. Based in New York, Robert focuses on consumer and retail investment opportunities. Formerly a Partner and Co-Founder of Propel Equity Partners, a consumer-focused private equity firm based in Greenwich, CT, Robert manages the U.S. office of BBRC Private Equity and is a member of the Investment Committee. Robert also co-founded Silver Steep Partners, a boutique investment banking firm advising branded consumer companies in mergers and acquisitions as well as capital raises, prior to selling the firm to D.A. Davidson.
Currently, Robert serves on the board of directors of Plant Therapy and Locally and formerly served as a board member of several other consumer products businesses. Robert started his career at JPMorgan after having graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.
Senior Vice President
Jennifer relocated from Sydney to New York in 2018, and with her capital markets and equity markets experience brings a differentiated global perspective to BBRC Private Equity.
Jennifer Kruk is a Senior Vice President at BBRC Private Equity. She relocated from Sydney to New York in 2018 and focuses on North American consumer and retail investment opportunities. In Australia, Jennifer was a top-rated sell-side analyst at Macquarie, where she predominantly covered small-cap consumer companies. She also accumulated significant capital markets experience which included her role as lead analyst on five IPOs. Jennifer began her career as a sell-side analyst at Deutsche Bank in 2009 after completing a summer internship at UBS in 2008. She currently sits on the Board of two BBRC investments; Pioneer Interests and Hot 8 Yoga. Jennifer graduated with a Ph.D. in Finance and Bachelor of Commerce (Honors Class I in Finance), both from the University of Sydney, a top 50 ranked global university.

Company Profile: Plant Therapy
Plant Therapy is a direct to consumer essential oils company, set apart from competitors by its high-quality product and exceptional customer service. The business was founded in 2010 in Twin Falls, ID and has grown rapidly in recent years.
BBRC Private Equity invested in Plant Therapy in April 2019, partnering with founder Chris Jones and his team to help grow the business in the DTC and wholesale channels.
Company Profile: Hot 8 Yoga
Hot 8 Yoga was founded by Vincent Nicoletta in 2010 and opened its first studio in Santa Monica, CA. It offers a range of classes in clean and comfortable heated studios including traditional yoga, barre and sculpt, as well as a comprehensive teacher training program.
BBRC invested in Hot 8 Yoga in late 2018, partnering with founder Vincent to accelerate the roll-out of studios across the US.
Company Profile: Lovisa
BBRC partnered with Shane Fallscheer in 2010 to build Lovisa, a fast-fashion specialty jewelry retailer. The Lovisa concept evolved as an extension of BBRC’s tween jewelry brand Diva. Lovisa was positioned to reach a broader target market and capitalize on the strong demand in the category.
Lovisa listed on the ASX in 2014 at a price of with a portfolio of 220 stores in 8 countries. The listing price was A$2.00 per share and BBRC retained a significant shareholding in the business.

Company Profile: Honey Birdette
Honey Birdette began over a glass of champagne between two friends in 2006, with the luxury lingerie and bedroom accessories brand opening its first boutique later that year.
BBRC invested in Honey Birdette in 2011, partnering with founder Eloise Monaghan to accelerate the store rollout in Australia and grow the business internationally. Honey Birdette now has over 50 boutiques and is in the early stages of executing a Northern Hemisphere rollout.
Company Profile: Bras N Things
Bras N Things evolved from Brett Blundy’s acquisition of The Bra Shop in 1986, and grew to become a leading specialty retailer of intimate apparel with 170 stores across Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
Bras N Things was listed on the ASX in 1997 as part of Brazin Limited, which also included Sanity Entertainment and Dusk.
The sale of Bras N Things to HanesBrands Inc. (NYSE: HBI) was completed on February 12, 2018 for an EV of US$400M.
Company Profile: Sydney BridgeClimb
Sydney BridgeClimb is a group adventure company offering guided climbs to the summit of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Since inception in 1998, over four million local and international visitors from 140 countries have climbed the Bridge. BridgeClimb is the #1 rated tour in Sydney on TripAdvisor.
BBRC was a founding investor in BridgeClimb along with two Australian entrepreneurs; founder Paul Cave and Jack Cowin.
Company Profile: Accent Group
Accent Group is a regional leader in retail and distribution of performance and lifestyle footwear. Its portfolio consists of over 420 stores across ten retail banners plus exclusive distribution rights for ten international brands across Australia and New Zealand.
BBRC purchased a ~19% stake in Accent Group in 2017. Accent Group’s store portfolio includes three multi-brand retail banners – Hype, Platypus and Athlete’s Foot, as well as brands where it has vertical retail and wholesale distribution – Skechers, Dr Martens, Vans, Timberland, Palladium, Merrell, Saucony, Perry and CAT.

Company Profile: Universal Store
Universal Store is Australia's go-to retail destination location for the latest in youth street and casual fashion, targeting fashion-forward 15-34 year-olds. With over 50 retail locations around Australia and growing, Universal supplies the latest in Men’s and Women’s fashion from leading fashion brands.
BBRC invested in Universal Store in 2018, as part of a consortium alongside Five V Capital and Catalyst Direct, partnering with CEO Alice Barbery and her team to grow the business

Company Profile: Adairs
Adairs is specialty retailer of homewares and home furnishings in Australia and New Zealand. It is focused on differentiating its product offering by delivering on-trend fashion products, quality staples, and value.
BBRC purchased a majority stake in Adairs in 2007 and has since sold down in a series of transactions, including a 2015 IPO on the ASX, to its current holding of less than 15%.

Company Profile: Sanity Entertainment Group
Brett Blundy made his first investment at the age of 20, partnering with a school friend to buy two troubled music stores. They were unable to make a profit in the first three years, even after closing one of the stores. It wasn’t until Brett and his friend saved enough to buy a second store were they able to significantly improve turnover, learning two key lessons of retail in the process – staying close to the customer and the importance of store location.
This business would later grow to become Sanity Entertainment Group
Sanity Entertainment grew to a peak of 350+ stores and one-third market share in Australia. It was listed on the ASX in 1997 as part of Brazin Limited, which also included Bras N Things and Dusk.
BBRC divested Sanity Entertainment in a management buyout, selling to Sanity CEO Ray Itaoui in 2009.
